Dr Wietz Botes is a Veterinary Specialist in canine and feline practice as a Diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. He graduated as a veterinarian in 2003 from Onderstepoort and subsequently worked for animal welfare organizations where he developed a keen interest and experience in surgery. He also started the veterinary services and surgery for The Emma Animal Rescue Society. In Hong Kong he was one of the first veterinarians to offer minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for animals. He has a particular interest in endoscopy and orthopedic surgery and holds a Masters’ degree in surgery of companion animals from Massey University, New Zealand. He was also awarded a membership by examination of the New Zealand and Australian College of Veterinary Scientist in medicine of cats. His interest in all things veterinary lead him to pursue various other post graduate certifications in fields ranging from clinical pathology, internal medicine to feline medicine. Dr Wietz loves the outdoors and particularly the mountains and the seas. He spends his off time with his wife and children enjoying the outdoors and you may run into him on any of the various Hong Kong hiking trails, rock pools or beaches. His furry companions at home includes exotic shorthair cats and a mixed breed doggy.
Dr Minette Venter has a wide range of experience in medicine, ultrasound, and surgery. After her graduation at Onderstepoort she committed herself to welfare work before arriving in Hong Kong in 2006 where she has worked at various private practices. Her passion is cardiology, and she is currently in the process of completing a postgraduate Advanced Practitioners Certificate on this subject. From the University of Sydney she completed postgraduate studies in Feline Medicine and Small Animal Cardiology. Having worked on the first Hong Kong Mobile Veterinary Ultrasound Service she has years of experience in ultrasound, and has until recently continued this service whilst having trained multiple veterinarians through her courses in sonography. dr minette venter
Dr Boris Yeung graduated from the University of Edinburgh and spent time in busy small animal practice in London before deciding to return to Hong Kong. He has a special interest in companion animals as well as exotic furries and is keen to provide advanced care to Rabbits, Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, Hedgehogs, Hamsters and other Rodents. He has spent the last couple of years working in and around Sai Kung along with various charities handling Dogs and Cats. He is currently enrolled in a Masters of Veterinary Medicine from Massey University and regularly attends continuing professional development courses to keep up to date with all aspects of veterinary care. He spends his spare time catering to the many whims of his various pets
